Ross Blakey - Close Ups and Macros
Pictures taken with my Tamron 90mm Macro lense
Maple Key RemnantsObviously these two keys still hanging on and the effects of the weather show. Don't think these keys will be doing their flight and finding a new place to grow... | Milkweed LeafHere's the remains of the broad based Milkweed leaf - plenty of different colours and patterns, never two the same on the same stalk it seems. | Final BloomsA few lingering blooms still to be found but I doubt after this snowfall there will be many left. |
Water Beads on a LeafA good number of water beads on this leaf! There was still some frost on other leaves so this one must of had a heavy coating... Needs to be seen in large version. | Hanging In ThereA lone leaf left at the end of a branch. After this week's rainfall don't expect that it will still be hanging on... A nice rich colour that attracted me to take it... | Sumac LeavesTheir bright colours are certainly attractive... it is just trying to get a clean background that can be a problem. There were varying degrees of colour on other branches but these were the richest looking ones. |
Sumac LeavesHere's another branch showing a different range of colours rather than the deep red of the previous posting. Again hard to get a clean background... | After the Petals Are GoneWas taking some pictures of Black Eyed Susans and spotted this seed head. Intrigued by the many "alien" teeth like centre hoped that I was able to focus it all - just a tad off on the far end. | Night of the TriffidsDo you remember that old movie where these plant like aliens appeared after a meteroid storm? Will have to keep an eye on this plant as I believe the colour will change to white later. |
Red AdmiralFound a rather nice flowery bush that had several of these flying about. My first attempt at trying to capture some wild butterflies compared to those at a butterfly conservatory! Patience, stealth and slow movement is a requirement. Taken with full sun light and -0.7 Exposure Bias at f7.1 at 1/500 sec. ISO 200. | A Big Spider!A rather plump spider this one was. Unfortunately am not up to snuff on what name or branch of spiders this one belongs to. Anyways, was not hard to resist taking this one - just wished I had taken more though! |
