Winter Sumacs

This image was taken on thanksgiving on Mt. Edith Cavelle in Jasper National Park.  The base of the mountain was about 10 degrees and free of snow.  As we hiked higher, the snow came in, and the wind started up, turning the mountain into a winter dessert (entirely too early in the year for THIS Ontario native!). 

Springbank is pretty quiet in the winter months.

 Was a foggy Boxing Day morning in Barrie and conditions were such that created a massive hoar frost show that is rarely seen.

The fog was somewhat heavy.  This view looked down the river were canoes are usually rented.

This image was taken at the Pinery Provincial Park on Dec 26, 2007.  The park may have seen a dozen people (none with cameras).  Only 2 sets of people camping.  The views were spectacular.
