First, let me tell you that I do own a 300, I bought it to relieve me of back pain, and finaly and still think it's the best bag around, as it allow you to change your lenses and cards over the opening of the bag when it is on your tummy.

Second: do not buy a bag online, get all your gear in a Canadian Tire bag ( if you do not yet own a bag) wrap it in news paper and go to the store... I know the fellows at Stan C. Reade they will let you grab 2 feets on the counter and try different bags with your equipement and they will also take out of the counter the lenses you plan to purchase.....

 If you do not think they will do it, print this comment bring it to the store and tell them the Coach made you do it.

I'm not overly familiar with the canon lenses apart from seeing them used by other members as I shoot Nikon but it all depends if you want to keep it on the camera when putting it in the bag. My suggestion would be to phone around and see who has the bag in stock and go there with your camera to see how it fits. My daughter uses a Nikon D80 and has her 18 - 200 lens attached to the camera with the 100 AW. Not sure how it compares in size to the camera you are using. You may benefit if there is doubt to go up to the next size ie the 200 AW as I find that with camera bag you usually wind up having more equipment to put in the bag than you have room for.

thanks bob, are you framiliar with the canon 75-300mm 4-5.6 III usm, if so will it fit in the 100? and what is the difference between the200aw andthe 100aw

 anyone own or ever used a slingshot 100aw bag?, i want some input on how well it works, how much it holds, ect.

My daughter has the slingshot 100 and my wife and I both have the slingshot 300. Both are excellent bags and the slingshot system works exceptionally well. The difference between the three models is basically size. As far as what it will hold is primarily determined by the camera you use and the lens you want to have attached to the camera while in the bag. The slingshot 100 is fairly small so you will not have enough room for a DSLR and a 70-200 f2.8 lens attached. It works well for smaller lense/DSLR combinations. If you are using a large DSLR (ie Nikon D2X or Canon 1DS MKII) then you definitely will need the larger bag such as the 300. The slingshot 300 gives you a fair bit of extra room for about 4 to 5 lenses as well as other accessories. It also has a padded waist belt to help distribute the load. On the singshot 100 the waist belt is smaller and not padded. The room inside is limited to 2 or 3 small lenses but the advantage if you don't have to put in alot of equipment is that it is much lighter and easier to carry on long hikes. Both bags are well made and stand up well

Hopefully this helps abit. Let me know if there are any other questions. The best thing to do if you are not sure is see which shop has them in stock and bring your equipment there and see how the fit is before deciding on which to buy.
