Much nicer in the portrait mode as it showed the colourful outfit.  The outfit adds to, and completes, the picture.

I know what you mean by the "cropping thing" - too much or too little.

Sean do you mean more like this one?

I wanted to focus on her face and was afraid the costume would distract attention from her expression. Perhaps something in between the two or just forget the costume all together and crop close in on the face?

Thanks for your time and opinion. I'm trying to get the hang of the cropping thing.

Hi Patti,  its a great shot but I think this shot woud have worked better in portrait mode, which would allow you to include more of the outfit which looks very colorful.  It looks plenty sharp enough but its hard to tell on a monitor.

This little girl captured my heart yesterday at Home County. She had such a quiet majesty about her despite her tender age. Unfortunately, the rain cut short the Ojibwa dancing.

I'm not sure about the crop I did. C&C would be appreciated. I also think I found the sweet spot for my 85mm 1.4D - f/2.2. At 3.2 the photos were less sharp.

edit July 22 - changed exposure a bit.
