August 2008 Newsletter

As summer time photos roll on so do the months and it’s August already ...  

Congratulations to Robert Reyno, who’s image has been selected for the August Photo of the Month.  This is a great shot with the ghosting effect of the ducks in the foreground, a great example of what you can do with time exposures.  Robert will receive a 16x20 enlargement from Stan C. Reade Photo.

We have also posted all the images from the Stan C. Reade/Photo Day Annual Contest and all the winning images and winners names are listed in the blog.

The August MyPhotoClub.com outing the Chalk Walk was great fun and there was many interesting Chalk images and other urban photos.  Check out the recent galleries to see some of the images taken by the members that went on the shoot.  And what a great way to wrap up the walk then end up at the ribfest.

Our friends from the Sarnia Camera Club are about to launch their fourth annual Photo Contest and as we have more details we will post them to the contest section in the forums.

We released four new videos this month, the first video was a presentation on Portrait Workflow, how to take the image from your camera into your computer and then to print, Macro Photography, things you need, techniques and tips.  And in Adobe Photo two videos, one on text called Text in a Circle and one on Converting an image to Black and White and adding grain to the image.
